Description

CNC Programmer/3D Modeler

Our manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Programmer with experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills. You will develop new CNC programs for production runs for different machines. During the manufacturing process, you will perform quality checks with the machine operator to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary. You will also look for product modifications that might reduce the amount of material or fabrication time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for production runs
  • Provide prototype parts and custom tooling
  • Program complex parts for milling, turning, and Swiss screw machines
  • Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Modify existing programs and processes to optimize machine lead times
  • Maintain tooling database
  • Make manual program adjustments as necessary
  • Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
  • May consult and instruct operators to ensure that new programs are functioning properly.
  • Perform maintenance according to the defined schedule

CNC Programmer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and HSMworks software
  • Minimum 3 years experience with G & M code programming
  • Experience working with various metals (steel, titanium, niobium)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus
  • Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills

Salary: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
